Let’s see what’s on deck this week… What are you planning on?
Barnstormers #3 - Good retro read so far!
Birds Of Prey #1 - Historically a good read, I’m hopeful.
Blue Beetle #1 - Trying to ride the movie synergy… Movie is worth a watch, comic? We’ll see!
Cerebus In Hell Presents Aardvarkian Splendour #1 - My Dave Sim retirement fund marches on…
City Boy #4 - Nearing the end of the “We Are Legends” project, will be interesting to see if it has legs.
Doctor Strange #7 - Still the is Clea guilty murder mystery.
Fantastic Four #11 - New story arc starts here!
Justice Society Of America #6 - Feels like this should be farther along by now…
Moon Knight #27
Parker Girls #10 - Final issue! We’ll see how this wraps up. TBH, these 10 issue arcs are kind of hit and miss. Motor Girl and Serial were good, but the long form Strangers in Paradise and Rachel Rising were better.
Peacemaker Tries Hard #5 - Looking forward to all of this.
Shazam #3 - Back on track after that nightmare crossover nonsense.
Fall of X:
Immortal X-Men #15
Magneto #2
X-Men #26
Not planning on picking up anything new this week, so I went back issue hunting at a spot I don’t frequent, and found two copies of a comic from '89 I’ve been looking for for about 3-4y now, and some other more recent stuff too!
Figured since I’m just getting into it and found y’all I’d stop in and say hey and thanks for sharing these lists, now I know I have to get something next week that I otherwise may have missed! Thanks also for your blurbs about your picks, helps me learn about new shit.
Speaking of, I’m currently taking reccomendations, but I’m fucking weird. Looking for stuff like:
The old EC stuff (SuspenStories, Tales From Crypt, Crypt of Terror, Vault of Horror, Weird Science, Weird Fantasy, etc, all of 'em)
Art Brut
And Ice Cream Man, which is the series responsible for my new addiction here.
Already on board with the new Creepshow coming out next week (and need Vol 1), but yeah I’m looking for stuff like that.
Thanks! I’ve been a little worried about engagement on these posts, I wasn’t sure of I was just talking into the ether or not! 😀
There are plenty of EC reprints floating around so you should be in good shape there, but one modern book in the EC style I’ll point you to was Frank Miller’s “Tales to Offend”.

If you dig that, I’d point you to all the pulp Sin City stories as well.
Yeah niche communities seem to mostly still be slow like it was 2y ago lol, but I definitely appreciate it! And thanks for the reccomendation, that looks perfect and I’ll hopefully be able to pick one up on wednesday when I go for the new Creepshow Vol 2 #1!
