    If you go with that reasoning though then like 80% (pulled out of my arse) of world news and business news belongs in here. What’s wrong with having a community that isn’t so broad.

      Well I think it would be 80% if we included everything tangentially related to technology, but this post is about a technology problem.

      It seems like what you’re asking for are only topics that are about technology and are pleasant, like new releases and breakthroughs. Which I kind of get, but with Lemmy being so small, the only reason these communities consist of the posts they do is the relatively small number of people doing the posting.

        I’m not against downer articles and I’ll also admit I didnt really look like into it much and my responses were pretty much knee jerk reactions because of how used I am to seeing tangential stuff here and just assumed the same. My point still stands for most stuff in this community but holds less weight in this specific comment section.
