Hi everyone! If you want to leave a little blurb about yourself, about the shape of your family, or welcome other newcomers to the site, blurb away!
I’ll start this off light!
I’m justjared, been with my partner for 18 years and we have a 10yo daughter. I have begrudgingly (read: encouragingly) helped her build a stuffed animal collection that has everything from sting rays to camels, from toilet paper rolls to stuffed pop/soda plushies, and only a little disappointed she hasn’t taken to Lego a bit more.
On Reddit, I’ve been a mod on r/parenting for 7+ years, and I’ve been running the Parenting Discord for the past 3+ years. The communities that spring up in those places have a lot of good wisdom and tips :)
I’m hoping to meet a bunch of new faces here and learn about difficulties faced with parents who are disabled and their experiences in raising their children. My wife is recently-ish disabled and pivoting our parenting strategy has taken a few minutes to find our feet.
Hey hey-- uymai here! Canadian with two boys under 10 over here (!). Anyone who has a baby and spends any time with me whatsoever, i’ll eventually mention that the happiest baby on the block saved my butt, twice!
