I have the option to buy a 2021 Porsche Carrera base (pretty much no options) with around 10k miles CPO (with warranty) for 98k.

I wanted a 992 Carrera S, but was wondering if it’s worth getting the base at least temporarily until I can find a 992 Carrera S that I want. My only thing is how much will the car depreciate in the next 6-12 months. Do you think it’ll hold its value to resell for around the same price?

New issue: I was offered an allocation for a 4s build. So now should I get a used S or go for the 4s?

IMO - it’s almost never worth temporarily getting a mass produced car to hold you over, unless you’re chasing something quite rare.

You’re going to lose minimum 10k if you trade it in 1 day later at the dealer. A carrera S, 4S, or even a base GT3 isn’t too difficult to find (despite what the dealer says there are hundreds for sale right now).

You’re better off looking through the entire inventory in the US and just negotiating free delivery to your address.
