I plan on buying a 2022 Corolla with 43k miles for $17,000. Found it on Facebook Marketplace. I have heard alot of stories of people getting scammed on the marketplace. Any advice/ tips to prevent this from happening to me?

Dont want to pay alot of money on a car only for it to start having major issues.

Depends if you’re handy or not. You can check most things yourself if you feel comfortable if not find a reliable mechanic to do an inspection. Check the title and verify the name on the title match the sellers info. Match the vin from title to car.

Generally speaking at that mileage you’re just looking for worn items (brakes/tires etc). Cold start/idle check. AC/heater. Look up common issues that you’ve found with that year/model. It’s a lot easier to buy used Toyotas than used BMW. Use common sense, gauge the sellers honesty/answers to questions. Generally speaking a newer year corolla with 43k miles shouldn’t have anything wrong with it.

    Edit- autocorrect.
