So I’ve been shopping for an EV the past few weeks, and the last 4 dealerships I went to, the dealers all said the exact same thing. Whichever vehicle I went in to look at, the sales person would say “Oh, I own that vehicle as well, and I love it! I’d show it to you, but my wife has it today.”

Is this just a sales tactic, or a legit coincidence? I suppose it’s not strictly an EV thing, but this is the subreddit I’ve been browsing recently.

I went car hunting with my brother and got this a lot. I started making up random features that don’t exist to see what they agree to. They agreed to everything.

“Omg I love how this car lets you turn on the stereo from the key fob!”

“The option to pop the door open right before I get to my car is so convenient.”

“I like the horn customization feature!”

Just silly stuff and then idiot sales person would always give the “oh yeah that’s great! I use it everyday.” But on one instance the services manager literally has my same car. He told me about one problem I might have then bam! It happened soon after my visit.
