My boss loves work, loves coming in and telling people what to do. He makes around 250k a year. I’d love it too if made that much. Dude has no degrees, he’s just a savant when it comes to computer and electronics
This meme reminded me to turn on my alarm. I turned it off last Wednesday for Juneteenth and the Monday and Friday alarms are separate (less road congestion, can wake up later). So if not for this, I would have overslept tomorrow morning
Most phones seem to give you the option to skip the next alarm. That may be better than disabling it?
I once actually left a 4 year fulltime job like this. Just walked out, sent an email “peace, I’m out” and went home, never went back again.
Would still not recommend, went through some serious shit before I managed to get employed again.
What kind of “serious shit”?
In my 20 years of being in the workplace, I’ve only ever formally quit once, and only because it was my first job and I was told that was what you were supposed to do. But then I quickly realized that informing your employer is completely unnecessary.
It is the employer’s responsibility to make sure they hired enough people to cover any situation, so when I no longer want to work a job, I simply stop coming in. No two week notice, no phone call, no email. One day I work there, and the next day I don’t. It’s a simple and stress-free way to quit.
Like I said, been doing it this way for 20 years and there’s never been any negative repercussions for living my life this way, so please: share your story with me. I’m genuinely curious.

Hah, it’s complicated. The above happened in 2014 and in 2015 I found a great job at a great company. Then, five years later during Covid, it was sold to a multinational and everything went to shit. I’m still here because I can’t find anything else and honestly I’m rather bad at my job, so I don’t feel confident I would be able to cut it elsewhere.
Lots of growing to do still…
