Hey Folks,

Wonder if anyone has any experience with this?

I want to hook up my Steam Deck to my campervans TV and I’m looking for a USB C Dock that can essentially run off a car usb cigarette socket that will charge and output via hdmi.

I don’t want to go down the inverter route to get standard household power as its an additional cost and drain on a leisure battery.

Does anyone have a recommendation to a dock that can do this?

The steam dock, and many other docks, just takes power from it’s usb-c power-in socket. It doesn’t care if the power comes from the AC adapter it comes with, or any other usb-c pd power source.

So, enter “12v USB-C PD 45w” into google and you will find a plethora of cigarette socket usb-c pd adapters that you can power docks with.

Shouldn’t any dock that works via USB PD work for this as long as the lighter USB adapter is rated for enough juice?
