I take possession of a ‘19 M550 on Friday and am interested in connected drive. I went through some setup on the my BMW app to prepare, but was not sure I wanted to “activate connected drive.” It’s not clear to me what this is or what it gets me.

I’ve heard a ton about subscriptions from BMW, and from what I can gather this is related. But what I’ve not found is a list (for this specific vehicle / year) of what subscription options exist.

Beyond that what’s the communities perspective here. If I’m getting BimmerCode anyway is it best to just skip this - or even more strongly put. Should I skip this?

    You’ll only be able to see what exists for your specific car once you’ve added it to your account, which requires access to the car. You add it by vin, it sends a message to the car (so you need physical access to it) with a number, you enter the number in the app.
