Hello everyone,

I need an honest opinion about how to go about my car.

I got the used car from a mechanic only for it to stop moving after a few days (transmission problem). When I put it in drive or reverse, it doesn’t move. Took it back to the guy I got it from (mechanic) and he says it’s transmission issue.

So he said he’s getting a transmission from the junk yard. Ideally I wouldn’t want a transmission from the junk yard but I can’t afford a new one and he’s covering the cost of everything because I got the car from him.

I asked about the reliability of a transmission from the junk and he said it’s very reliable and he has fixed a lot from transmission issues with transmission from the junk.

Please I don’t know a lot about cars, how reliable is this move ?

Most go this route because the cost of a new transmission…Be thankful he’s wiling to cover anything since a used car is sold as-is

Yeah, I’m glad he’s covering the cost. I just hope I don’t have any further problem after it is fixed
