I don’t watch Real Madrid too often. Is he scoring loads because they haven’t got much of a striker right now? Is it an extreme purple patch? Or is he simply this good and the scoring rate is likely to continue? His rate was significantly lower at Dortmund (though still very good for his position) after all.
If they buy a striker then no. He has a natural knack for finding the place to be and finishing and will always be a goal threat but right now he’s just been their de-facto striker instead of a deeper midfielder like he was.
As a Madrid fan, his goalscoring record is definitely unusual and I expect it to drop after a bit, simply because it’s impossible to maintain 1 goal/game from midfield. However, I also expect him to consistently score 15-20 goals/season for Real Madrid in future seasons, because his finishing, positioning, technique, and game IQ is absolutely elite.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see 25-30 out of him with his game sense combined with the overall team quality. As long as there are those who can give service, he’ll keep making those brilliant runs.
He’s way more dynamic than Lampard ever was but Lampard was consistently getting 10-20 a season with what I’m guessing would have been a similar heat map. No reason Bellingham can’t continue it for his career. His biggest enemy will be burnout.
Lampard did take lots of penalties too, worth remembering. A crazy stat to me is that Odegaard got more non-penalty goals in the premier league last season than Lampard ever got in a single season.
I don’t think it will. His conversion rate right now is unsustainable. He plays all over the field, so it’s not like he’s getting a lot of chances up front.
I think we all know the answer to this one. He has basically been scoring a goal per game.
All depends on what kind of striker they sign. A Haaland true 9 type? Expect to see tons of assists but far less goals. A false 9? Then I expect he will still be scoring high for a midfielder but not a goal a game
Fantastic player, England national team and Real got a true number 10. What England was missing for a while.
I don’t think so, because 1 goal/game is Messi/Ronaldo/Halaand kind of numbers. But the man’s positioning inside the box is exceptional and his physical abilities makes it hard to guard him, so it is possible but unlikely.
Maybe if he starts scoring penalties, then the chances increase as well.
I don’t think so, I imagine it’s a bit like a new manager bounce. He’s starting off great but he’ll probably decline, most likely next season. It’s hard to score consistently as a midfielder. A lot of his goals are kinda tap ins anyways. But if he does keep it up then good for him, he’s a great talent.
It’s over performance
He doesn’t score that many at Dortmund (and the NT) because he played in a very different position.
I don’t expect him to have >=1 goals per game rate by the end of the season, but it is very likely that he will score a ton of goals anyway. If he scores 30 goals across all competitions, I won’t be surprised at all.
