I bought a game for the first time (from my new account/US account) and I paid $0.50 for a $4.99 game. So I’m not sure how much to expect taxes for the steam deck, to plan savings etc.
I never paid taxes in my old account though (not US account), so excuse my ignorance. I live in Michigan though.
This is a silly question.
Taxes are different everywhere, even within the same country.
Research tax for YOUR situation.
I don’t find it a silly question, I’m wondering how much others paid taxes and where they live. I already researched for MY own situation, and asked this question here too.
So your question has nothing to do with the steam deck.
You have a tax and borderline economics question.
This is a steam deck forum, you are seeking Tax knowledge. And you didnt even drill down to a specific region, because again, taxes vary WILDLY. In the USA you could be taxed 3-6 times on a transaction on varying levels of government.
Taxes are based on your region. Google the sales tax rate in the zip code used on your steam account
Could you just put it in your cart and go to checkout? Pretty sure you can see shipping and taxes in there after you put in your address.
Pretty sure You’ll pay whatever the sales tax in Michigan is.
EDIT: putting it in your cart and heading to checkout will calculate the taxes. I just tried it.
Thanks, I will try that.
Michigan sales tax at the state level is 6% so if you paid $0.50 there must be some city or county tax involved.
You should move. 🤣
Lol
And the digital receipt should include the breakdown as well
Check your state and local taxes…
Jesus Christ.
I checked and still asked lol
It’s the same tax you’d expect to pay on any purchase in the state and locality you live in.
And representing everywhere else worldwide, excuse me? America, why are you like this?
I paid about $50, but it will depend on your state. My total for the 1 TB was $700.36.
