Hi, I’ve been using the iPhone SE (3rd generation) 128 GB Midnight as my daily driver for two months now in an OtterBox with a screen protector. Unfortunately, I saw a large scratch from the corner of the home button running towards the middle. When held against a light source, there’s a faint crack visible underneath the glass, but you cannot feel it. The button is completely smooth to the touch.
I’ve had multiple SE 2 and SE 3 devices and never did this occur to me. My AppleCare eligibility ran out yesterday lmao. Would Apple replace this? Else, I’ll just trade it in for a 12 if they’ll ask 150 EUR for a repair.
FYI, iirc the fingerprint sensor is hardware tied so if you get a new one installed at a 3rd party it wont work as a sensor anymore
Got it replaced at the Apple Store for €185. Pain.
