Enough pressure on the OLED panel to not only indent the panel but the glass as well is definitely something to worry about. That much pressure could definitely cause issues in the future. If my phone had those bumps I would have sent gotten a replacement.

Well yeah, there’s some stupid problem with Google phones literally every year. Stop buying pixels/nexus

So I have a Pixel 6a that’s gathering dust because it would randomly lose connectivity to RCS or other data driven communication apps, despite having full LTE on. Then I’d get home on Wifi and see “missing” messages or calls flooding in.

It was tolerable until there was an emergency and someone couldn’t reach me.

Other than that, the phone was great: snappy, great camera, and some other nifty features (AI related).

Now, I couldn’t find anybody else having the exact same issue, so I thought it was just me. I was looking into updating to Pixel 7 or 8. Then I read about Pixel 7 having network connectivity issues (though not identical to mine) and then I read about Pixel 8 having this shit.

I guess, I’ll have to go back to Samsung :( Too bad Sony phones are so damn expensive and not really widely available.

    ^(I miss the HTC era!)

Honestly I’m done with pixels after the 6. I loved the 4 and the 5, but they got rid of the fingerprint scanner in lieu of the screen reader version which fucking sucks. Among other complaints (including shorter battery life and increased charge times… like wtf?!) Google services in general just continue eroding.

Using it and loving it. Didn’t like how big newer phones were getting, and was planning to get the 8, but was waiting for more reviews… a lot more hesitant now.

Yeah I was looking at the 8 and am thinking I’d best leave it alone. I genuinely don’t know what to get if this phone kicks the bucket. I don’t really dig iOS and I’ve never had luck with brands like Samsung beyond a couple of years; seems like they slow down dramatically as was the case with my S9.

“Components pushing into display panel” was the answer for white blobs on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite LTE. Yes, old POS with disaster engineering, had the screen replaced in warranty and white blobs were there again soon.

It’s a fail. Big time fail.

We need a reasonable Android phone with clear Android OS and Google is very good at this. Well… was. Please don’t mess this thing up, just two big companies having 98% of the market is extremely expensive for users.

Ya’ll acting like Nexus wasnt a fuckin trash heap. Fun fact i probably have the only Nexus 5x that still works - because its using cfw that lets it boot without its main cores - because they all overheated and desoldered themselves from the phone.

I still have my 5X, battery is stuffed and screen is badly cracked but it still works. Same with my 6P that replaced it. Can’t seem to make myself throw either out, though…
