Good question! Was wondering that myself lately. I suppose it’s difficult to find topics to post about that actually drive engagement without being overly horny or going into personal detail.

Edit: I remember drawing the map heart in HS. Never thought I’d find a community. It’s good to see it again.

I think because such communities were not allowed on reddit for many years, people tended towards various old-school style forums like ATF. When reddit shit the bed and people started flocking to lemmy, there wasnt any really map community on reddit to make the move. There are still plenty of map communities elsewhere on the web that just dont have a need for a fediverse alternative yet.

Yeah I should try ATF but I assume they’ll get all whiny about realistic art, even if it’s non-sexual (everyone does) 😓

Also the last time I went there, there were a bunch of nazis and bigots and the mods refused to do anything. But that was years ago, so we’ll see lol

The mods heavily moderate content that skirts too close to the line interms of legality, but mostly leave eveything else up to the community. There are absolutely a bunch of nazis and bigots, but there are also a lot of people on the other side as well. I recommend just stay out of the politics subforum, its pretty well contained in there.

As for the art, i think anything obviously drawn/painted or 3d rendered is pretty lax in how realistic it can get. The do have a very hard stance against realistic AI generated images. Considering the proclivities of the users i dont believe they make any distinction between sexual and non-sexual art.

In terms of community and discussion regarding our specific attractions, there are various subforums where lots of discussion takes place but they are not available to new members until your post count is high enough.
