I recently got myself an iPhone 15 Pro, coming from the 14 Pro Max. I love how light and portable the phone is, with addition to USB-C, Action Button, 8GBs of Ram, and Good Camera.

Besides the good stuff, I feel that we have hit a slow incline of improvements and excitement starting from the iPhone 6, IMHO.

I upgrade every year based on my undying love with tech, so that might be why I feel underwhelmed, but I just don’t feel that we can ever hit that WOW factor anymore.

My first excitement was upgrading from the iPhone 3GS to 5. That was huge. And then as time goes, I lost that excitement factor as I upgrade from the 6 to 7, 8 Plus to 13 Pro, 14 PM to 15 Pro.

I may be going crazy, but I was thinking of returning my iPhone 15 Pro and get the iPhone 13 or 14 regular and wait for whenever the iPhone gets a major overhaul with its hardware. That way I can get that feeling of excitement again.

Am I the only one who is thinking this? Besides that, I am very happy with my iPhone 15 Pro, just not as excited as I was anymore.

I’m coming from an 11 Pro. I’m disappointed in the camera. Many photos contain blurry spots around the center. And there’s something weird with taking photos at close range. I notice when I scan QR codes they often appear blurry on screen. And sometimes when I photograph a room, the macro mode will kick in.

The “wow” factor is behind us. Market is mature now. Keep your phone for 5 years and upgrade. And even then it’s probably not gonna be “wow” unless there is some major new thing coming. Improvements yeah, but I kinda doubt that it’s gonna be “wow”. My iPhone XS was released 5 years ago and although new phones are much better in all domains, I’m pretty sure that if I upgrade it’s not really gonna be a “wow” effect

If it’s a tool for communication, get the 13/14. If it’s a whole experience for you, return it, and get the iPhone that helps you get that purchase high.

Hear me out I just think that you upgrade too much because of your upgrade every year you will get minor changes that maybe even don’t bother you that much and then you aren’t really getting the satisfaction with buying a new phone, but in my personal opinion, you could get a much bigger satisfaction if you wait a few years until you upgrade, because then there is enough tech that has been upgraded and itches that bothers you from your old phone, so you want to upgrade and don’t get this itch from your old phone anymore. It could be a cracked phone. It could be that you don’t like the form factor or the design and this will change over the years in my personal situation right now I have an iPhone SE two and I’m quite satisfied when I bought it but now after four years I want to upgrade to the 15 or 15 pro because the lifetime of my phone is almost dead. The battery isn’t that good anymore the screen is too small and so on and I think this itches will build up over the years if you just stop upgrading and wait for a few years and you will have a much bigger satisfaction. In my opinion I do this kind of all of my tech because I save a lot of money and also I’m very satisfied when I upgrade. The only bad thing when doing this is that you won’t always get the newest tech, but when you upgrade you will feel so fucking satisfied I’m telling you

I upgrade about every 5 years. I would probably keep the phone even longer if they‘d still support iOS updates longer, guess we gotta wait for the EU to solve that problem lmao

Ya theres kind of a levelling off and I wouldn’t upgrade anymore than every 2-3 years. Just only so much you can do with something of this form factor. If you don’t use camera with excitement or appreciate nuanced details in gaming; there’s only so much you can expect right? Beyond that how much time do we want to stare at glass right? We’re definitely in the shift to augmented reality and Tony stark kinda stuff between ai and what the goggles can to. The smartphone’s peak of importance is likely coming imminently.

A watched pot never boils. Annual upgrades don’t lend to experiencing the advancements iPhone has to offer. My experience, like others, was from an 11 Pro to a 15 Pro. To me it was a huge improvement simply because of going to 5G. That’s not to mention the improved screen refresh rate, better cameras and lighter feel in-hand. My opinion, it’s WAY better. Stick with what you’ve got and hang on to it long enough to appreciate the big change they may offer down the road. These things last longer than they used to!

I was going to give in and get the 15 pro max. From 12 pro max. But im just gonna wait and see how the 16 looks next year. If it seems worthy I may get it. If it’s just a reskin of 15 I’ll wait till 17 and so on. My 12pm still works just fine. 89% total battery too. Got it on release day so you’re def not alone. 15 seems lack luster. Cool we got an action button! Will I use it? Maybe lol

I’m still with 12 pro. Because there is no need for me to upgrade. Phone works just fine, next month getting a battery replacement at Apple and will be using for another year or two. People these days buy stuff just to keep up with the trends and the same are you. You didn’t actually need to get the 15, you just went with the crowd and then complain it’s not good and now you want to downgrade? What the shit is that? You have the latest device and you want to downgrade so next year you can get excitement from getting new phone? Why don’t you keep the 15 and wait a few years and then get a new phone, voila- much exited.

People who upgrade every year won’t see the benefits. You’re don’t need to upgrade every year, you choose to.

I went from the 11 to the 15 pro and I felt the difference instantly.

I went from a iPhone 13 Pro Max to the iPhone 15 Pro Max. I personally wasn’t planning on it as I was perfectly happy with the iPhone 13, but I was offered $1000 for my iPhone 15 Pro Max which made it $8 a month. My mom is on my plan and she was still kicking it old school with the iPhone XS Max I had before the 13. We were offered $800 (or maybe it was $650) to upgrade her phone so she has the iPhone 15 Plus for $4 a month now, massive upgrade for her.

Unless the same promo comes around in 2 years, we’ll be hanging on to these phones.

It’s a mature market, this is what happens. Do you get mad at the lack of innovation year-over-year with washing machines?

I’ve committed to upgrading when the number attached to the iPhone is an odd number. It’s usually the equivalent to the old s series they used to do in between physical design refreshes

I upgraded to iPhone 15Pro Max from 11Pro. That was the oldest model Apple would offer any trade value, and my face recognition camera had ceased to function, and the Apple Genius offered that rather than pay $170. To fix it, I might just upgrade to the new model coming out in September (not official news but the norm he shared). He also suggested they might not pick up on the fact that the face recognition camera was TU. They did pick up on that and reduced my trade in offer from $250 to $67. Bird in hand I thought. Anyway, love the upgrade and I don’t know the half of it.

What’s the point of returning now? You’ve already paid for it and you’ll just be spending more unnecessary money. Just keep it and upgrade when you feel like you need to.
