After browsing https://hardware.watch/c/steamdeck (which is a mirror from Reddit) it seems like a a lot of people had dead pixels with the LE deck which may be why they stopped orders on it :(
Hi there! Looks like you linked to a Lemmy community using a URL instead of its name, which doesn’t work well for people on different instances. Try fixing it like this: !steamdeck@hardware.watch
Doesn’t each OLED use the same panel? Other than batch defects, why would only the LE be affected by something like that? Interesting to hear though.
Funny that the OG 512gb also had a screen issue with those bubbles. I did have that one, but it was minor and the sunlight cure worked. Funny since that was “debunked” but it worked for me. Now here we are with the LE having screen issues!

Glad I didn’t get any dead pixels for mine!
I didn’t notice any on mine, either, but I should try some dead pixel test images to be sure while it’s still in warranty.
Hopefully, I’m in the clear. I’ve only played a bit to run updates and test it works after unpacking since it’s going away until Christmas.
Edit: None on mine. I used a dead pixel test video to check. The black test was so black I thought it turned off… Obviously, in retrospect, lol.
I don’t see why it would be specific to the LE version…?
The LE steam decks are shipping with a screen manufactured by BOE.
Mine just arrived and indeed has 3 dead subpixels (2 blue, 1 green)
Apparently they were using a different manufacturer for the screen for a portion of the LE Steam Decks.
