Hello Everyone. I am seeking advice regarding an issue with my 2010 Toyota Corolla S. There has been an unknown vibration/rattling sound coming from the water pump region over the past month or two.

While the car operates perfectly fine with no issues at any speed, the sound is more noticeable at idle and less so when driving on the freeway. I haven’t noticed any performance issues or leaking.

I would love to get a second opinion before I order a water pump for repair.

Here are some details about the vehicle:

- 2010 Toyota Corolla S

- 190K miles

- No accidents

- Perfect service history (regular maintenance every 5k miles)

- 1.8 L 4-cylinder with automatic transmission

Water pumps are only a few components.

Housing, Impeller, Bearing, Shaft to connect the pully.

If your water pump’s bearing fails, it is very possible that it is causing your shaft/impeller to spin off balance, causing vibration/noise.

It’s the typical “death rattle” of Aisin water pumps when they get old and worn out.
