So the people opened the door, the cyclist crashes into it and the people get off, say they don’t know what to do and walk off while someone else passing by has to come up and call emergency services… Terrible people. Should the car have known the bike was coming, sure. But the fact that the people just up and left after just seems so strange. They must have had their phones on them to schedule the ride in the first place…
Car shouldn’t have been illegally stopped in a bike lane. Those things have so many cameras and sensors, there’s no way it doesn’t see the lane.
Google/Waymo absolutely are the ones to sue here (not saying you said any different, just specifying), but I can’t even imagine being involved in smashing someone off their bike and not immediately trying to render aid, regardless of the other circumstances… Terrible people, for sure.
