I know this might be a stupid question but it’s the rule of thumb to change the oil every 5K or 6 months which ever comes first? My dealership refuses to do so and only does it for 10K under the free servicing. What should I do?

Depends on how and where you drive your vehicle. If it’s mostly easy highway driving, 10k is fine. I go off-road a lot and drive with a lead foot. Mine gets it every 5k.
