Went to tire shop to change a flat and told ‘em they couldn’t due to a missing socket (?). I understand it’s a wheel lock and I looked near my jack and glove box and couldn’t find anything. Do I need to order a whole new set at this point or is there another option? Thanks in advance!

A tire lock wont prevent your wheels from getting stolen they just make it slightly more difficult, because 9 times out of 10 a thief is going to just have a tire iron and if they see a tire lock they wont waste there time going to get one and come back they will just choose another car without one.

Wait, is this scenario of yours the tire lock definitely prevented the wheels from being stolen. So if the tire lock makes it inconvenient enough for your car to get passed, then that’s a win.
