Does anyone else have a headphone adapter?
I’m having problems with mine and it isn’t working. Is my phone defective?
—- So I have two usb-c to 3.5mm headphone adapters. One adapter is by OnePlus and works fine on my OnePlus with wired headphones, the other is a generic adapter and also works on my OnePlus with headphones. Neither adapter works on my iPhone with headphones. I’m not using a case and made sure it’s all the way plugged in. Is this a problem with the adapters? I’ve tried two different sets of wired headphones.
Is this a problem with software? I’ve upgraded my iOS to 17.1.1, and I’ve tried Spotify, YouTube Music and Apple Podcasts. None output sound through the adapter to my wired headphones.
Using the USB-C headphones (made by OnePlus) on my iPhone works. I called Apple support and they said it may be that only official Apple adapters are supported. -what? USB-C is a universal standard, so is 3.5mm stereo mini jack.
They said I could try an Apple adapter and if that doesn’t work I could bring my phone in for repair or replacement.
Anyone else have any luck with headphone adapters?
Try buying another Apple adapter. Those are the only ones I trust to work with iPhones. Keep in mind, this is the first year Apple has gone USB c on iPhones and made such adapters, so you’re likely not alone. If not, then take it to the Apple store and get it repaired.
