Looking into getting a cold air intake system for my Silverado for the purpose of increasing horsepower. For one. Is this even a good idea…like am I even going to be able to tell a difference. I have to get my intake system replaced soon because of the condition it is in but I don’t know if I will actually see much of an increase by opting for a high end intake system. I am willing to pay good money for one but don’t really know what I should be looking at since I have never bought one before. Any advice would be great. Thanks!
They can’t compete with OEM: https://www.nicoclub.com/archives/kn-vs-oem-filter.html
You will make your parts supplier very happy. They make money selling parts to guys like you who love to talk to your buddies at the bar about your ‘upgrades’. You’ll notice no difference. And I guarantee the condition of your factory intake is entirely intact and in original shape unless you’re intentionally beating on it with a hammer and chainsaw. They don’t wear out.
You asked for a recommendation. Slam the hood shut and stop fantasizing about horsepower the engineers at GM forgot.
