is the back If the case rigid and how much of a screen lip is there? I have a screen protector on so I’m wondering if it will lift the screen off of a table face down.

Yes, it is very good. Excellent build quality.
There is a raised lip on top and bottom, between 1 and 1.5mm. The case does not touch the screen anywhere, only the casing/frame. If your screen protector goes outside the screen, it will touch that on the sides.
