I’ve checked my usage on my S23 Ultra and it’s mostly the same for both days the only difference is that I’m in my parents house for the weekend and I’ve been on wifi the whole time today. yesterday I was at work mostly and I was using Cellular data the whole time.
Apparently I can’t upload images here so here are the differences
Today 77% battery usage for 8h 35m SoT
Yesterday 87% battery usage for 6h 24m SoT
Does it really affect battery performance this much?
No 💩!
Yes. Cellular takes more energy to use. You can look up youtube videos explaining the technology.
Yeah.
Yes. Even more so if you have low signal.
Sure does. Our mobile signal is pretty well non existent, and the wifi is so bad that it takes ¼ of an hour to watch a five minute video. My s20fe lasts about 6 hours before it’s flat but will last 9 - 10 somewhere where there’s a reasonable signal.
Using the cellular network takes much more battery (especially when the signal is low and if you are using 5G) than using Wi-Fi only.
When outside, on the go, on mobile data I am getting half of SoT in comparison to inside, stationary, wifi.
You are receiving/sending data on much larger distances, it makes sense.
For the best energy efficiency, use Wifi when possible.
Yes, especially if you have a weak signal…
Same as other phones I’ve had… lower the signal, the worse it is…
Yup cellular data is a chugging phone battery beast. And beware of the low signal monster. You better turn it off if you are in a low signal area, just turn airplane mode until you get to a place you know has good signal 🤷🏻♂️
5G is a power hungry beast.
6h on mobile data is pretty good, on s22+, I only get like 3-4h of sot
S23 ultra - Leave my wifi, data, bluetooth, location and nfc on all day, every day, battery lasts more than a day still. Usage between 6-9 hours with some days peaking 14 hours.
