Recently purchased Audi A4 2010 with 147000km, has a juddering when accelerating, smooth in all other respects, I cleaned the mass air flow sensor, checked the spark and coil packs, one coil pack is a different design from the others and I am having trouble removing the third spark plug.
Any assistance would be appreciated
If it’s ONLY vibrating while accelerating, not when coasting, and vibration gets worse & faster with higher vehicle speed… then have the CV joints in the axles inspected.
Checked the obd2 codes came with a misfire in the third cylinder, I checked the coil and spark plug, they where very old and the rubber bottom was stuck to the top of the plug, got it removed eventually and ordered a new coil and plug set, hoping that would fix it. Could a bad coil and/or spark plug cause juddering when accelerating?
Overgapped or worn plugs can misfire at high rpm.
Pro tip: if you have CEL codes, always put them in your OP so folks like us have a better clue what’s going on with your ride.
Can You read OBD codes? Check the last spark plug. Sometimes They look not bad but make problems.
