I have a 1997 1500 engine I drove for 2 hours it drives completely fine didn’t do anything weird but it only goes a little over 2 rpms on the guage can someone tell me what is wrong

Don’t sweat what you don’t understand. It’s 2000, not 2. My Sierra revs about 1500 at 60 mph. I have an overdrive. Maybe you have a TH400. No overdrive. That would put you around 2000 at 60 mph depending on your rear axle gear ratio.
