The acid doesn’t affect the painted surfaces as easily as it does the lug nuts.
Given enough times, the paint on the wheel and rotor will start to erode.
Agreed! I just replied a rant to a similar comment above! Crazy how bad some of these products/chemicals are!
Major vendor tried getting us to switch brake cleaner and it was literally melting the seals in the Wurth brake clean bottles! We used it for literally 1 hour and made all techs dump it out and had vendor take it back! I swear it had to a mislabeled drum not just the new/different formula to eat through seals look that and melted the nitrile and latex gloved off your hand in minutes if you got it on you!
