Seems like the solution is very possible, low cost approach would be to hire a person within the stat team at every club who is there to purely assess referee decisions at each game. Then can log a full book of decisions, outcomes and factors. This would then allow for a clear approach to complaints in the future rather than arguments devolving into anecdotes and conjecture.
It’s done for players, do it for refs.
There’s millions on the line with these decisions so it seems like a simple solution to protect those assets for owners and clubs, and allow for legal recourse should a decision impact team losses.
