I was installing non steam games through Lutris, then I decided to uninstall a game I no longer needed I saw that 60gb was successfully deleted (don’t ask me how), please if a Linux user can help me recover it I will be extremely appreciative.
I know of a software called “testdisk” but I have no idea how to use it. Can someone reach out who has an idea how this works. Thanks.
If you continued to use the device and installed other stuff, just give up.
You will probably recover 95% of good data, and that 5% corrupted will make you literally insane.
The use case in such a oopsie is to immediately disconnect safely a drive if external, or shutdown the device. Boot from an external boot media, and then try to carve deleted data from it.
Also to recover that much data will require a sizable chunk’o’time.
