Valve honestly did an amazing job with the waves of Limited Edition releases. I’ve seen the average price on eBay drop from $1100 to $800/750 in the past hour.

I think it’s fine to sell one unit overseas, but if you do, don’t be crazy. I think a 20-30% mark up is reasonable, especially if it’s an LE to say the UK or Australia where it’s hard to get them.

Don’t think steam decks are even available to Australia outside of the Grey markets x x.

10% goes to eBay in taxes.

I reckon international shipping would be customs cost (tax) + about 70-80$

To make it worth it should be a profit of $150 IMO.

I paid $720 after sales tax for my LE.

I’d have to sell it for $950 and charge shipping cost to make $100 profit. That’s roughly 11% margin, and 30% markup would only be $882, that would be $44 gained at 5% margin.

I’m keeping mine but just as an example.

Valve has handled this amazingly! This mid refresh is more than we could have asked for and they are allowing a ton of people to order a limited console. Props!!! Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, take notes!

I can still click buy now and get one in two to four weeks. Why would I buy from a scalper? Stupid scalpers.

People outside north america exist? (It’s a joke). I forgot they were only selling them in North America.

Personally I would wait a year. Hell if that, probably come the steam summersale you’ll see them comeout with different colors. That purple case everyone was in love with? There’ll be a purple one.

Didn’t even buy one and I’m glad to hear things went smoothly. I always hate when scalpers ruin things.

What are they doing? Don’t ebay take a huge percentage from their sales. They are losing money

I was able to get a limited edition at 9-something PM PST.

It was sold out this morning but came back? I wonder how many people got filtered or canceled.

I’m actually interested in buying one. I live in Mexico so my options are limited. What should I watch for to avoid being scammed? Any tips on how to get one over here? I really hate that I can’t even use my 19 years old steam account to purchase one the legit way. Not even while visiting the US.

Limited edition, people on ebay now… Unless they restock.

After that, you probably need an international shipping service that can make it happen. You’d still need to do your diligence to protect yourself with the purchase.

You’ll likely need to pay at least 20% above market value to make it worthwhile for the international shipper to sell.

Unfortunately, the companies I know that would do these things no longer operate, so you’ll need to search reddit or google

haha yes… great job, the scalper edition ran out of stock and then instantly 3 minutes later was back in… guess those guys who have it now are desparate to recoup their costs!

I wish we could all bond together and collectively let their stock rot to hell.

than offer them 12$ when the deck 2 releases.

Need to think about RMA for valve.

It’d be a pain outside North America.

Also, other countries, different warranty laws.

It’s a calculated risk. Normal steam deck oled, I suppose they have good enough systems in place
