I just got a new job that is fully remote and my spouse also works a remote job. We will both be in the medical field now and on the phone continuously, so we can’t both work in our office. The problem is both jobs require us to be hard wired into the internet, but the rooms we need to use are on opposite sides of the house. Is there any way resolve this besides running a very long cord all the way through the middle of the house?

I’d install a cable (or have a cable installed). There is no substitute for a cable.

Another option is to repurpose (quality) Cat5 based telephone cables for Ethernet, or reuse legacy cable tv wiring (“MoCA”)
