I was thinking about modding mine to use an external GPU and keeping it docked at my TV. Not sure if it is worth it.
Hard to sell it for $250 when it’s only a month and a half old.
If anyone wants to sell me their LCD model lol
I’m going to put mine in the bin where that obsolete garbage belongs. I wouldn’t feel right selling it so someone else’s eyes have to bare the pain of the LCD ‘screen’.
250 $ ?!
You practically stealing the guys here ! 150 max !
I’m probably not upgrading, I want to see how well those panels hold up for a year or so in use, OLED still scares me
It will be my dedicated docked living room Deck from now on. It is going to go into an arcade cabinet at some point but for now it will be loaded with tons of arcade games and multi-player games.
Wife gets it. She wants one, just not enough to actually buy one.
Now I get to tinker double the amount :P
you can sell it to me. In my country are no steam decks available.
Passing down to my fiance or to another family member.
This is the way. My LCD model is now my fiancé’s and she paid $250 on my 1TB LE OLED. She got a 1TB LCD for 250 and I got a 1TB LE OLED for $430. We all win. Considering we already wanted one each. I’m glad we didn’t buy that 2nd one before the OLEDS lol
Mostly docked to the TV, and allowing my kids to play with it. Until now it was Dad’s toy and they were only allowed the Switches.
Giving it to my husband. He’s encouraging me to get the OLED because he REALLY REALLY wants my Deck. I don’t have a computer anymore, so he wants me to have the good Deck, and he’ll take my old one.
I switched to using a Mac full time for work and content creation, which has taken over my Windows PC’s spot. I still have the PC because I’d like to set up a gaming area somewhere, but I totally forgot I have the Deck…and now that the OLED is out, I’m curious to know if there are any games you miss being able to play on the PC?
I play some games that work better with keyboard and mouse but I’m not too worried about those since I can just run an extra cable from my monitor and dock it…so is it worth just shirking my Windows PC entirely?
Oxygen not included works better with a k&m but still kinda passable on SD.
City builders as well
I don’t often play games where it matters too much, to be honest. If I play games where I have to move fast or hit buttons fast, I tend to be able to use a controller for it. Otherwise, my games are pretty low key - visual novels, turn-based stuff, things like House Flipper.
TBH, I haven’t missed my computer. I live my life on my ipad for almost everything, and the Deck for everything else. I’m waiting for my husband to test out Baldur’s Gate on it to see if it’s worth investing in myself, but that’s the only uncertainty I’ve had.
Maybe combined with a monitor to create a virtual pinball table.
But might just sell it and recoup some OLED cost.
are people really spending the extra money for a slight upgrade? I’m just going to play the one I have until it no longer suits my purposes at which point I’ll get whatever the newest one is then, hopefully Deck 2.0 or whatever
eBay son. Sorry old deck.
I got an Ally for my emulators. So I want to use the deck for its better SteamOS and auxh
Gifting to family member
Selling it, or giving it to my sister if it doesn’t sell for what I’m asking.
I thought I wasn’t gonna do it, but they got me.
