Hey! I recently bought the iPhone 15pro and when I use the „focus“ in the camera App by tapping with my finger on the screen a „f“ appears in the corner. I can activate it, but I can’t find out what for. It looks like the sign for „camera aperture“ (I don’t know if this is the right word, it’s „Blende“ in German). What does it do? I didn’t find anything on the apple help pages.
Think of it as the control of background blur (bokeh). The smaller the number, the higher the blur. Play around with it to see the effect. Personally I like higher f-stops (less blur)–it looks more natural.
F
It means Apple is paying respect to you
it will solve algebra equations such as f(x)=3(0.54)^x
Click it and you’ll know
focal
As people said… aperture. F stop. Lower number = more blur (portrait) Higher number = less blur (landscape)
You can pay respect with it
Aperture
faperture
it means FIGHTING GOLD

i love how most don’t realize phones have fixed apertures lol. anywho the f means it’s saving the depth info so that you can apply the portrait effect after taking the pic
F stop (It is a camera suture measuring unit )
Aperture.
