I bought my factory winter wheel/tire set in Oct 2021 during the supply chain insanity … they arrived in March 2022.
Will Michelin Pilot Sport 4 Ss make it through a PNW winter? Yeah, but it’s a nail-biter.
No. Don’t even try. I got caught off guard one cold day with PS4s on my i4 and regretted it. Installed my winter set the next day.
My M2 Competition gets stored on my lift or parked on flat stoppers from November to March so I just leave the PSSs on.
Uhh, probably not. A 4S will not really work if it’s wet and below about 40 degrees, which is a big chunk of PNW winters.
PNW winters are the worst for this. Don’t swap tires? Oh sorry it snowed and you won’t be able to go anywhere for three days. Swapped tires? Oh sorry. It won’t snow for the next two years all winter long.
I’ve definitely thought about driving it in the winter, but they use so much salt here, and I can’t wash the car in my garage. I’ve been parking it on a tender for the last three years from December-April.
My local tire shops been booking till December. To get my wheels switched. At this point I’m debating just to do it myself. But don’t know what tools I would need for it.
Was just looking at the next 2 weeks temps, and I may switch to my winter set for my M2C either this weekend, or next
