being able to answer a imessage by swiping down the notifications. then answering right there like bitesms used to let you do. you still have to go into the app to respond
No you don’t. Just long press the notification and that brings up the keyboard to type your reply. Same goes for answering a message from the Lock Screen.

Hold the notification and you can respond right there and then from the notification or the Lock Screen/notification centre. No need to open Messages
