I have spent around 1 month with my current AW and i appreciate its capabilities but i find it quite pointless to wear it inside the house unless i am sleeping.

So I was curious what does the community use the watch for when they are wearing it indoors ( and not doing any physical activity ).

I’ve clearly got some undiagnosed OCD tendencies. No matter where I am or what I’m doing or nothing at all … I always need to know the time. I check the weather every morning. I can send/receive texts all day without picking up my phone. I know when folks are coming in/out of the garage. Timers for cooking and other tasks may be my second most used function. Finally, I like to go to bed, knowing I got my steps in for the day.

Fyi … Before AW, I still wore a watch at all times.

To tell the time…and there’s no reason to take it off, it’s a watch lol. Do most people take off non digital watches when they are at home?

Until having an AW I used to track my steps with my phone only. Of course, those reflected only the outdoors steps and the ones registered during my phone calls (I like to walk while talking over the phone).

After wearing an AW I learned that I am doing a lot of steps indoors, all counting against the rings.

Also, if you wear the watch while doing house chores, the heighten HR will also count against the activity rings.

If you have heart risk, the high/low HR alerts could be useful.

The stand-up notifications are also very useful if you’re sedentary or work from home.

Setting timers for coffee / tea / cooking is also a godsend.

I find it quite pointless to wear my watch inside the house unless I’m awake. I can’t really use it when I’m sleeping.

I’ve worn a watch for 67 years now. If I want to know the time, my first thought is to look at my wrist, not pull my phone out of my pocket. All the other features others mention here are really useful, too.

It reminds me to get up, shows me the time, estimates my calories, measures my pulse, HRV and a ton of other things.
