I discovered today that my dentist is double billing patients after they get paid by their insurance. They “waived” the extra money they charged me when I brought it up. This additional charge was added to my account even after my insurance paid $100 more than what was billed by the dentist.

Google reviews, Yelp, Trustpilot. This is probably not “on purpose” but a bookkeeping error that they haven’t been keen to chase down since it is profitable.
But if we didn’t had ultracapitalism in dental care, people wouldn’t brush their teeth with <brand> electric toothbrushes and <brand> toothpaste, let alone use mouthwash and floss! /s
