I think both clubs are in disarray in their own ways. Both have great managers but not idea players. United have good players on paper but who seem to have really poor attitudes and undermine the manager eventually.

Chelsea have spent a lot of money but have a completely new squad who have had little time together and are very raw.

It’s easy to say “Chelsea should because they spent 1bn”. But I am talking about their current squads, manager, board, situation etc

    I think for the same reason their position is unacceptable and embarrassing, Chelsea. Really simply put, you can NOT spend billions of pounds so rapidly and NOT achieve anything, there has to be a point where you are buying success and a billion pound personnel investment is absolutely past that.

      You can when it’s for the long term, not the short term. The money was spent on young players. No one expected Chelsea to challenge for the title this year. Not even next season.
