So, this is my first post, and it already feels kinda off-topic, but don’t think it is: I have a small home network, some ethernet, WiFi of course, and a cable uplink to the outside world. And I like to keep track of all these devices in-between in a small wiki instance running somewhere. Now, whenever there’s some kind of trouble (sudden WiFi problems some time ago, or my ISP degraded me to CGN recently), I make a small note in that wiki and document how I solved it, or dealt with it.
But somehow I think some kind of ticket system might be a better fit to keep track of open and closed problems that occur over time. A full blown OTRS or Jira might be overkill, even RT seems a bit too much. So, my question is: does anyone here use such a system for their home network and can give a recommendation?
Thanks.
Have a look at Hesk - https://www.hesk.com/
Also Bookstack is great at organising notes / configs / scripts etc - https://www.bookstackapp.com/
Out of the two, Bookstack is my current go to for these type of things.
For open ‘calls’ I just use Apple notes and organise each issue into a separate note.
Edit: Also look at r/selfhosted
Bookstack looks nice, and it’s open source too, I like that. Yes, I’ll look for answers in r/selfhosted and ask around there. Thanks for responding and for the pointers!
