If you can’t build a d price your vehicle and take it to the dealership anymore and say I want this from the factory like an allocation. How does Toyota know what people want? If I want something specific and specific options. It’s like a dealer could or couldn’t find. How is Toyota building basically your desired build?

If you were able to specify your build, then how would the dealer be able to upsell you on options you don’t want but have to accept because they’re included on the only car on the lot that has the options you do want?

Toyota doesn’t do factory orders, they make whatever and your dealer will do their best to get an allocation that matches your desired spec.

I picked the vehicle (4Runner) with color and trim and it arrived from the factory about 4.5 months later. Easy peasy.

You’ll most likely find what you want in the following year models…end of year is the better deal with the chances of not getting exactly everything you wanted.
