The level he showed before he blew out his knee was top shelf. He’d fit right into our setup today, having the ball skills to bomb up and down the flank, sit centrally and recycle the ball. The crossing would need work but that was improving as he got older.
Many acknowledge this, the only issue being that others evaluate things in such a hypothetical squad differently: You are looking at the peak of the player, whilst others are looking at their overall/average level of play whilst at the club. If you consider the latter, Bellerin is out of the question, since he was not at the peak of his powers for the majority of the time he spent at the club.
