They essentially sell Proof of Concepts, not production level cars.
Until a company have figured out production at scale, after sales support/repair/warranty, parts availability, etc. They are really just selling a demo car.
Until an OEM can deliver 100K vehicles a year, they are sub-scale and can die in an instant. (Fisker is on the verge of dying again.)
