It took me a long while to figure things out, but I did. Before this, I was stuck on a black screen every time I tried to launch it, tried a bunch of different versions available on the internet, with differents versions of Wine/Proton.

This was until I used GE Proton 8-23 and added PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% on the launch options, then it went smooth after that.

I tried the PC version instead of PS2 because of 60 FPS and the remaster itself.

I also tried to bundle an AppImage like I did with Need For Speed Underground 2 before, but had no success, I’ll maybe be able to do this if I figure out how to disable dxvk on the wine bundled with the GameImage packager.

There are still some audio crackling issues that I have not figured out how to solve, If anybody could help me with that, I would be really thankful.

Let me know if you want any help anything installing this gem.

I don’t have the game, but with many games if you are getting audio crackling using Proton you can fix it by increasing pulse latency. For example PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=150 %command%

So in your case can try: PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=150 %command%

If there is still some crackling try increasing the value to like 250

You are welcome, good to hear you found a setting that works!

Yea there is no universal value that works for all games. One has to often experiment and find a sweet spot by increasing/decreasing the value and listening if it gets better or worse, like you just did :)
