This is my 2016 BMW 228i. Six speed manual. Despite being the base model with the four cylinder, 240 hp engine I like it a lot and think it’s pretty quick. When I first bought it I thought I’d eventually upgrade to an M2, but after three years I still love it and don’t feel the need for more power.
So just a friendly reminder that the cheapest model isn’t automatically bad, and actually can be awesome (or maybe I’m just a slow driver haha)
Honestly people need to grow up and give it a rest with the model snobbery. Even a base model BMW today has overkill horsepower for street use. People got along fine with BMWs that made less than 200 hp for decades
My 180hp z3 is way more fun to drive than my 450 hp 135i
I see you are an e30 enjoyer too.
Love my M235i, the size is perfect. Nothing base about yours. Enjoy the ride and F the haters.
Interesting, the base model here is a 218i with 136 hp.
There is even a 220i and 220d model.
Which is still enough for the public roadsI know. In the USA though the 228i or 230i’s are frowned upon by some (50/50 some enthusiasts some non enthusiasts). I don’t show up at car meets though because of this…my friend has a 23’ M2 and always asks me to come. Why I say??? All The ppl own new M3’M4’s. Thus…I just go to car events with my dad in his 1M or 23’ X3 Mcomp. (My brother has an E30 M3 too—sometimes I go with him!) but after buying my 228i vert new in 2016…it was expensive as shit $51k is a lot of coin for me. I’ll keep the car for atleast 10 years and then probably have to buy used if I want a MSport 6cyl BMW. I only buy verts lol.
I love that blue. I got the same color
Amazing car man! Getting the 228i ‘20 model and I absolutely love her!
You’re being followed by the B1 Lancer.
B-1A…which I believe only 4 were built before going to the B-1B. “Peace is our Profession”
You trade the excitement of acceleration for all of the sensations associated with driving a car closer to its limits on the road. Both are good things and fun
