I don’t know a ton about foreign motors other than surface level stuff like the 2JZ, Wankel, etc. so please forgive my ignorance outside of US motors.
However, in my eyes, it doesn’t get better than the simplicity and easily available power of the SBC, BBC, and 6BT. What are your all time favorites and why?
There’s a reason “LS-swapped” is a cliche/running joke. They’re probably the best all around crate engines you can buy.
I’d like to drop one in my e90 BMW and call it a 357i.
LSE90.com has you covered. I’d also love to LS Swap my E91 one day.
K swaps may be catching up
Lol. No
I’m an LS guy, but I’m sure much of it has to do with the small size and relative abundance of the motor. These things definitely have their weaknesses and limitations.

Coyotes are catching on but still more expensive, but oh man tbatvpowervand and high rpm pull and scream. There was a Cayman with a swapped and modified Coyote that use to run at my track that was a monster. Would eat GT3s alive like they were Yugos and was hilarious hearing that scream come from the car. Plus, whipple’d F150s are fun, brutally fun, love my Platinum that can still tow and rocket away.
Someone else years ago had an old Porsche 917 with an LS7 swap outta C6Z. Lol, was nutty but a handful.
