The hybrids absolutely can go 10k between changes. Working at a dealer i regularly see hybrid ravs getting the oil done every 10k and it’ll still be amber/brown.
The engine in my Prius only runs about 50% of the time so a 10k interval is basically a 5k running mile interval (with no idling either). I’ve heard the argument that the start/stop produces more wear, but the reality is the computer stops the cylinders at a specific point in its travel so that the engine restarts smoothly. I believe with synthetic oils and such technology, a 10k interval is reasonable.
