I just have been hearing this a lot and wondering. In 2020 I had a 2013 Acura TSX I bought used after buying a 2012 new Jetta TDI which fatefully became the property of VW after dieselgate. I loved the DSG and the diesel mileage but the offer was great and I always worried about the cost of issues from German vehicles. So I really liked the Acura. It was peppy, nice interior and features for a 2013. Then someone ran a red light and totaled it. So this is 2020. I realized after a lot of reading Honda and Toyota have a long history of reliability (although I realize American brands have come a LONG way towards that). I wanted a Lexus. I test drove a used Lexus IS250 which was fun and very nice but something didn’t feel right. It was a 2017 and the tech was awkward. Next day the Lexus rep called me. Their Toyota dealership had a 2020 Camry SE AWD with less than 100 miles. Technically used but the buyer decided after a day it wasn’t for them. They had it brought to the Lexus dealership. I test drove. Had just about the same engine as the IS and it was awesome. Plus had CarPlay and tech in general was great. Interior noise was more, had cloth seats in the middle with faux leather on the bolsters. Def not Lexus level of luxury but it was like brand new and at the time I got it at 2.3%. So long story to say I live in the outer skirts of Metro Atlanta where everyone seems to drive raised Pickup trucks or huge SUV’s. My young cousin asked my why I drove a “girls car” and my friends all ask have SUV’s (mainly built on sedan frames) I love the car. Gets great gas mileage for a naturally aspirated 4-cylinder. Never had a prob with acceleration and I’ve even loaded a bunch of boards from Home Depot by dropping the back seats. Is there a reason I need a truck or SUV? I’ve owned a Jeep GC which basically was a POS even though I bought it new. Only SUV I love and miss was my first new one. A 2001 XJ Cherokee. It was underpowered, basic, but perfect for its time. The Toyota (knock on wood) has given me nothing but pleasure driving. Just curious anyone’s thoughts. Thanks!
No way, Camrys are much better imo. I have a 2021 and I love it. They’re more economical and arrow dynamic than SUVs. SUVs are just higher up so you may get better visibility depending on the model. They’re also easier for some to get in and out of. But my Camry feels more stable and sporty than any SUV I’ve driven and I love the gas milage it gets. You have that advantage over all your friends’ vehicles. But yah I prefer sedans. I have two friends who are the same way. One of them has a 2019 Camry and he loves that car too lol.
It’s beautiful. Can’t go wrong with a Camry
I have the car, great reliable car and I had it since 2018. It’s fast enough to go in and out of traffic and can easily go 100+mph with comfort. I did add sound deadening in the interior but that did minimal change, I find that upgrading the sound system helps drown out the road noise.
You bought a Camry….the decision is always right when deciding to buy a Camry. Reliable, well built, reliable. Change the oil, make sure the fluids are fresh, put gas in it, and go.
