Hi Guys, i am from Germany, and recently i have found an old Audi 80 coupe on a parking lot nearby. It has stood there for at least 2 years and has no numberplates and unfortunaltely i also dont have The keys or any of the paperwork. The owner of the parking lot knows nothing about it. I really want to get my hands on that car, and rescue it from its current, suboptimal state. Do you have any tips on how to do that?

Geh mit der Fahrgestellnummer zum amt und lass dir neue Papiere ausstellen. Können die keinen besitzer/halter ermitteln, gehört er dir.

VIN is not visible through the windshield like on modern cars. VIN is stamped on the top of the firewall inside the engine bay, but should also be on the B pillar on the passenger side under the trim.

If it’s left behind it might be dead though. Took on a dead 100 many years back. Was left behind with a broken timing belt. Interference engine, so was probably gefahren. Great parts car though.

Owner, or operator, of the parking lot probably have to get involved though. Can’t just take the vehicle as that would be theft, but the vehicle may be seized as remedy/payment for misuse of the parking area.

I have asked the owners of the parking lot already, they said that they have no information about the car. To be honest i dont really know what to make of that
