Anyone have any insight into the ability to upgrade the SSD on the OLED?

I purchased the highest capacity OG SD but regret it now as I swapped out the drive for a 2TB one so would have been cheaper to get the lowest space model instead. Considering doing the same on the OLED but want to make sure it’s the same deal with easy drive swap and no warranty issues? Anyone have any insight?

Looking through the Gamers Nexus comparsion between the OG and OLED the OLED board still appears to have a 2230 M.2 slot. It’s in a slightly different position, but should still be user replaceable. Valve has been really Right-to-Repair friendly, so I’d find it far more surprising if they had removed the ability to do so.

I’m 98% sure I’m getting the 512 OLED for the glossy screen. The thought of just throwing in a 2tb ssd is tempting. Before I do some more research, is the OS on the stock ssd or does it boot from somewhere else? If it is there, how fiddly is transferring that to the new drive?
